recent fashion illustrations

הזמן קצר והמלאכה מרובה. מאחר ואין לי דקה פנויה חשבתי שהדרך הטובה ביותר לעדכן את הבלוג תהיה לעשות קופי-פייסט מהקלסרים וספרי הסקיצות אל המסך. אך מסתבר שגם לסרוק ולצלם זו משימה הדורשת לא מעט זמן ובכל זאת טיפין טיפין אשתדל לפרסם מדי פעם את המתרחש מאחורי הקלעים. האיורים האלו נעשו במסגרת שיעור איורי אופנה, כאשר הדגש הוא על טכניקות האיור ולא על הבגדים.

Daydreaming

אני צריכה לשבת ברגעים אלו וללמוד למבחן בתולדות האמנות או לחילופין לעבוד על העבודה באילוסטרייטור, אותה עלי להגיש בשבוע הבא. במקום זה אני מוצאת עצמי חולמת בהקיץ, כנראה סימן לכך שכוחותי הלימודיים תשו לחלוטין בתקופה האחרונה. אני צריכה למצוא מחדש את תחומי העניין שלי ולהיזכר מה אהבתי לעשות לפני השנה האינטנסיבית הזו אך מסתבר שאפילו דבר כל כך טריוויאלי אפשר לשכוח. בכל אופן כרגע אני אמורה לסלק את המחשבות הטורדניות הללו ולהושיב את עצמי לשולחן העבודה על מנת שאוכל לסיים את חובותי כלפי הסמסטר הנוכחי בהצלחה, כנראה שריח החופש פשוט משכר מדי.
כמובן שהפוסט הנוכחי הוא רק תירוץ לקום מהסיכומים והמצגות... האיורים הם מקטעים מתוך העבודה הסופית שהגשתי בקורס איור אופנה.

Right now I'm supposed to be studying for a test in the history of art or work on the Illustrator project I need to hand in next week, Instead I'm daydreaming. I keep trying to remember what I liked to do before this crazy year and what were my interests, couse as strange as it may sound, I kind of forgot. Anyway I shouldn't be thinking about those stuff right now, I should be sitting infront of my desk in order to finish all my duties towards this semester. Ain't easy.
Of course this post is just an excuse to leave my notebooks for a short while... the illustrations above are bits from my final project for fashion illustraion course.

Bodysuit suit

מזה זמן מה בגדי הגוף מככבים על מדפי החנויות. לי עצמי יש בארון מספר בגדי גוף, שרידים מהתקופה בה פקדתי את שיעורי הבלט באופן קבוע. איני מרבה ללבוש אותם וזאת בעיקר משום שחסרים להם את התיקתקים הכה חיוניים שם למטה אי לכך לבישתם הופכת את החיים המסורבלים ממילא למסורבלים עוד יותר.
מסתבר שבאנגלית ישנן מילים נפרדות לשני סוגים של בגדי גוף: מילה עבור בגדי גוף המשמשים לצרכים אתלטים (leotard ) ומילה אחרת עבור בגדי גוף לשאר המטרות (bodysuit). דרך אגב יש גם מילים נוספות לתיאור בגד גוף המכסה גם את הרגליים (Unitard) או כזה העשוי ויניל (Catsuit) ואף כזה העשוי מגרביון (Bodystocking), מה שגרם לי להרהר על דלות השפה העברית בכלל ובתחום האופנה בפרט. בכל מקרה על פי ויקיפדיה בגד הגוף (bodysuit) מיועד ללבישה עם מכנסיים/ חצאית, כהלבשה תחתונה או כפריט יסוד. כנראה שהערך לא ממש עודכן מאז עלייתה של ליידי גאגא לשילטון, אשר שברה את כל החוקים (כמובן שלא רק את חוקי הבגד גוף) והחלה ללבוש את בגד הגוף כבגד בפני עצמו. ממש כך.

It's been a while since the bodysuits did their comeback. I have a few bodysuits myself from the days I used to dance but I don't wear them very often as they are not so comfortable.
In Wikipedia it is written that :"A bodysuit may be worn as a top for the smooth line it gives or because it cannot become untucked from one's trousers or skirt. They may also be worn by men and women as underwear, activewear, or foundation garments. Unlike the similar leotard, a bodysuit is not a form of athletic wear." I guess there was no update since Lady Gaga took over,
she broke all the rules and began wearing a bodysuit just the way it is. As simple as that.

Recent school work

סוף הסמסטר מתקרב בצעדי ענק ואיתו גם העומס גובר. על אף שחלק גדול מההגשות והמבחנים כבר מאחורי, חלק נכבד עוד לפני. הגשם שהחל היום רק מחזק את החשק שלי לבטלה ביתית אך כנראה שזו תאלץ להמתין לשבוע הבא או לזה שאחריו. סרקתי כמה מאיורי האופנה של השבוע החולף אך לצערי איכות הסריקה אינה מספקת (התוצאה בהירה יותר מהמקור וחלק מהצבעים כמעט ונעלמים), לכן נאלצתי לוותר על שאר האיורים. למי מכם שמבין בסורקים אשמח להצעות ייעול בנושא (גם הצעות בנושאים אחרים, ממי שאינו מבין בסורקים יתקבלו בברכה ובכלל כל דבר שיגרום לי לאתנחתא קלה מענייני הלימודים). שיהיה המשך שבוע טוב לכולם.

Recent school work

מלבד שלושת הדמויות התחתונות כולן איורים שנעשו לאחרונה במסגרת שיעור איור אופנה ואיור טכני, ללא ספק מהשיעורים האהובים עלי כרגע. כולם תרגילים שהוגדרה בהם טכניקת העבודה אך עם זאת ניתנה בהם גם מידה רבה של חופש.
הדמויות התחתונות הן מתוך ספר הסקיצות שלי, מחשבות ראשונות על הפרוייקט הנוכחי שעוסק בסריגים.

Besides the last three characters all are illustrations that were made in fashion illustration class and technical illustration class, definitely from my favorite classes right now.
The lower figures are sketches from my sketch book, first thoughts about the current project which deals with knitwear.

Zippers and buttons

כפתורים מייצגים בעיניי סוג של עדינות. באופן מיידי הם מתקשרים לי עם חולצות עדינות יותר, מחוייטות יותר ורציניות יותר. רוכסנים לעומת זאת נתפסים בעיני כמשהו יותר קשוח ומחוספס אשר נותן גימור יומיומי יותר לבגד. כמובן שאין חוקים באופנה, על כן לעתים קרובות מתהפכות היוצרות ורוכסים ועדינות הולכים יד ביד באותה החולצה או כפתורים מחוספסים תופסים מקום של כבוד בג'קט.

I think buttons represent a sort of softness. They Immediately remind me gentle blouses and other tailored items. On the other hand zippers are more rough thus give the clothes an everyday finish. Of course there are no rules in fashion and often it's just the other way around.

Longing for scarves

עשיתי את האיור הזה היום ובניתוח פרוידיאני זריז, נראה לי שהוא מצביע על געגועי המודחקים לצעיפים. אני אמנם מתעטפת לפעמים במטפחת קלילה אבל עמוק בפנים מתגעגעת לצעיף אמיתי ומסיבי, כזה שעוטף כמחצית מפלג הגוף העליון ומחמם את הצוואר ואת הלב. נמאס לי מהקיץ.

I made this sketch today and I think it means something about my surpassed longing for scarves. I do go sometimes with a light scarf around me but deep inside I am longing for a real big massive scarf, one that wraps half of the upper body and warms the neck and the heart. I've had enough of this summer.

Under the sun

החלטתי להתחיל לכתוב את הבלוג גם בעברית במקביל לאנגלית, זו אמנם עבודה כפולה אך אין כמו שפת הקודש...
היום יצאנו לטיול משפחתי בצפון יחד עם אמו של החבר אשר הגיעה לביקור היישר מארגנטינה (החבר, דניאל, הוא עולה חדש ומשפחתו עודנה מתגוררת בארגנטינה). צילמתי הרבה תמונות של הנוף היפהיפה שאפף אותנו כל היום, היה יום שמשי ביותר ועל אף שאני מנסה בכל כוחי להימנע מהשמש, עבור ארגנטינאים שמש כל כך חזקה זו בהחלט אטרקציה. נשרפתי כולי. כמו שאתם יכולים לראות גם החמניות הרכינו את ראשן וניסו להפחית את החשיפה לשמש, אך ללא הועיל.

Today we did a day trip in the north of Israel along with my family and my boyfriend's mom who came from Argentina to a visit in Israel. (My boyfriend, Daniel, is originally from Argentina and his family still lives there). I took many pictures of the beautiful view and although I tried to avoid the sun , for Argentinians strong sun is definitely an attraction. I'm all burned now. As you can see also the Sunflowers stoop their heads and tried to reduce the exposure to the sun, but without success.

Looking for the future

The future is exiting. Everything is so unpredictable and things just happen the way they happen.... I made this illustrations while thinking about the future. My future and others around me. Later I found this pair of shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti, which I think reflects perfectly the unpredictable manner of life and fashion.

Wearing the newspaper

Sometimes the news are so bad that it's better to wear the newspaper than read it...

It's all about the size

Metal or plastic, fabric or precious stone. It doesn't meter, it's all about the size. My favorite necklace is defiantly the Lisa walker one, though I'm not sure how big it is...

This is not a fashion post

I can't get out of my head the great song from the soundtrack of Waltz with Bashir- "This in not a love song" (If you didn't see it, highly recommended). So yeah, this is not a fashion post.

This week was a very strange one, regarding both to my personal life and to my blog. I won't get into the details of all the things that happened, I'll just share one episode.
Last week I sent an email to Susie Bubble, whose blog I read almost on a daily basis. I sent her an illustration of herself wearing one of her outfits and I wrote her about my fondness toward her blog but didn't get any reply. Well, I know that sometimes emails get lost in the way (do they?), I know sometimes emails find their way accidentally to the spam box and I know sometimes people are just too busy to reply...
I can't deny the fact that it bothers me. I think that when you read someones blog, after a while you start to get the feeling that you know him or her a bit. Somehow I have the feeling that Susie that I know, would have replied (even if she didn't like the illustration), But maybe I'm wrong and knowing someone via a blog is simply a too romantic idea... On the other hand, again, maybe the email did got stuck in the way, I guess I'll never know...
So this is not a love song but I'll keep on reading Susie's blog anyway.

This amazing necklace was mas made by the great Lisa Walker. I believe she is one of the best jewelery designers and I'll definitely dedicate her one of the next posts...
