read my lips

אין לי הרבה מה לומר היום ובכל זאת אומר כמה מילים בענייני ליפסטיק. נתקלתי לאחרונה בהמון מראות (מלשון looks) מוצלחים שכוללים ליפסטיק בגוון עז כלשהו, החל מגווני ורוד בהיר אך חזק ,שלצערי אינם מתאימים לי כלל, ועד שחור עמוק ובוהק. לאחר שמאסתי בכל גווני האודם בתיק האיפור שלי שמתי פעמי בהתלהבות רבה לסניף מאק הקרוב והתחדשתי לי בין היתר בשני שפתונים חדשים ושונים בתכלית. האחד בצבע כתום-ורוד זרחני והשני בגוון הכהה ביותר שהיה בנמצא - הרי הוא כאן לפניכם. החבר שלי אומר שזה נראה כאילו מישהו נתן לי מכה, אבל זה ידוע שאין להקשיב לבחורים בכל הנוגע לאיפור כי הרי הם לרב בעד לוק נטורל משמים. מה דעתכם?

I don't have much to say today but I'll say a few words about lipsticks. Recently I came across many great looks that include a strong-colored lipstick, from pale but strong pink, that unfortunately does not look good on me at all, to deep, shiny black. Enthusiastically I went to the near by mac store and bought some eye shadows and two great shades of lipsticks. One was an orange-pink -fluorescent one and the other one was the darkest shade available - that's the one on the pictures. My boyfriend said it looks as if someone hit me, but it is a well known fact that when it comes to makeup, boys' opinion doesn't count. They prefer the natural look anyway... What do you think?

Blame it on the weatherman

סתיו, חורף, קיץ, מזגן, שמש, צל, רוח... מזג האויר לא ממש ברור בעונה הזו של השנה ולכן הלבוש שלי בימים האחרונים פשוט לא מצליח להיות מותאם לטמפרטורות. אני קמה בבוקר, מעיפה מבט דרך החלון (אני לרב לא מקשיבה לתחזית) ועל פי מראה עיני מנסה לנחש מה יהיה מזג האויר בהמשך היום. אך כנראה שכאשר מתעוררים מוקדם יותר מהשמש ומתי שעוד שוררת צינת הבוקר הניחושים אינם משקפים דבר וכך כל יום אני מוצאת את עצמי בלבוש חם מהנחוץ...
השמלה הזאת נראית לי אידאלית למזג האויר המבלבל הזה הן מבחינת הבד שלה והן מבחינת ההדפס, יש בה מן הקיצי והחורפי גם יחד.
סבתי בחרה את הבד לשמלה לפני שנים רבות והיא נתפרה לה במיוחד, משום שהיא מעט גדולה נאלצתי להוסיף את החגורה, אך אני חושבת שבלעדיה היא יפה יותר.

The weather in this time of the year is very confusing, it often changes from warm to cold and the other way around. I find this dress suitable for both situations, there is a bit of summer in it and a bit of winter as well.
My grandma bought the fabric many years ago and the dress was custom-made for her, I added the belt because it's a bit too big on me but I think the dress is prettier without it.

כמובן שהייתי שמחה להאריך את שהותי בבואנוס איירס אך יחד עם זאת אני בהחלט גאה לומר שטוב להיות בבית. בדרך חזרה משדה התעופה חלפנו על פני הבניינים הכעורים של שדרות בן ציון ובאופן משונה המראה הלא במיוחד מלבב שלהם גרם לי רגשות חיבה. נכון, אין בבניינים התל אביבים שום זכר לקישוטיות האירופאית המופלאה האופפת את מרבית המבנים בבואנוס איירס, אך עם זאת יש משהו כל כך מוכר בקופסאות האפורות וחסרות החן של תל אביב שגורם לי בכל זאת לאהוב אותן. ממש כמו סווטשירט אפור בלוי שיש לי, שאמנם הקשר בינו לבין אופנה די קלוש אך הוא משמש אותי בנאמנות כשיורדות הטמפרטורות ואף פריט מעוצב לא יהווה לו תחליף.
הסווטשירט האפור והבלוי שלי מקומו בבית ולא בבלוג אופנה ולכן לא תזכו לראות תמונה שלו, אני חושבת שהקרדיגן הזה מזארה מהווה אלטרנטיבה מקבילה ליציאה מהבית. הוא שימש אותי רבות בבואנוס איירס מאחר והוא מתאים להכל, דק אך מחמם, מחמם אך לא מחמם מדי, פשוט ויומיומי אך גם מבריק לעת ערב. על כן אני בטוחה שהוא עוד ישמש אותי רבות בסתיו ובחורף הבאים עלינו לטובה (חשיבה חיובית, רבותי, אומרים שזה עובד). אולי ביום מן הימים הוא יוכל להתחרות באותו סווטשירט אפור אהוב...

Although I would be happy to stay a bit more in Buenos Aires I can proudly say that it's good to be back home. On our way home from the airport we passed by the old neglected buildings of Tel Aviv. They don't have the same European details nor the same decorations that the buildings in Buenos Aires have but there is something else that makes them special. I think that their familiarity is what makes me feel unexplained feelings towards them, even though I find absolutely no charm in the structure. Same happens to me with an old worn out grey sweater, which has nothing to do with fashion but to me he's one of a kind...
The right place for my beloved sweater is of course at home and not in a fashion blog thus there won't be any photos, but I believe this Zara cardigan can be a fine outwear replacement for it.
I've used it a lot in Buenos Aires since it fits everything, it is thick and worm, simple but shiny. I'm sure I'm gonna wear it a lot during the following monthes, and mabey one day it would be at the same favoring level as my grey old sweater.

Mix the patterns

אומרים שהפכים נמשכים. במקרה של הדפסים אני חושבת שזה נכון. יש לי חיבה גדולה לשילובים בלתי אפשריים של הדפסים, כאלה שלכאורה ממש לא מסדרים יחד אבל במבט שני (או שלישי) מתחילה לבצבץ איזו הרמוניה. יש משהו בדברים שאינם מובנים מאליהם שאני מאוד אוהבת.

There is a saying that contradictions attracts each other. In the case of patterns, I believe that's true. I have a great affection toward impossible mixes of patterns. I really love it when a combination looks at first weird and sort of wrong but when you take another glance at it you start seeing the harmony.

Spinning wheel

החיים הם עניין מחזורי, יש כל הזמן עליות וירידות. כשאנחנו בשפל תמיד צריך לזכור ולהתעודד מכך שאחר כך תבוא עלייה וכאשר אנחנו למעלה צריך להעריך זאת ולדעת שאי אפשר כל הזמן לטפס. לאחרונה יוצא לי להרהר בכך הרבה דווקא משום שאני נמצאת בתקופה מצויינת.

האופנה מחזורית גם היא. לפעמים משהו שנראה מיושן ומכוער חוזר להיות פתאום ברוח הזמן ועל כן נראה לנו פתאום מוצלח ועדכני ולעתים פריט טרנדי ואופנתי הופך כעבור זמן לחסר שימוש ומשעמם.
המסקנה שלי היא שדברים טובים, כאשר הם אינם בלויים משימוש יש לשמור במעמקי הארון ושלוף אותם ברגע הנכון, אז הם נראים פתאום כה נחשקים.

כזה הוא הוסט הזה שזמן רב נראה לי כעור במיוחד ועל כן אוחסן במדף גבוה ביותר מבלי כל זכר לשימוש וכך גם החגורה הזו, שיש לי מאז שהייתי ילדה וזמן רב היא נראתה לי זרחנית מדי. שני הפריטים הללו זוכים עכשיו לעדנה מחודשת אצלי
לאחר שפינו מקום אי שם במעמקי הארון לפריטים אחרים שיצאו משימוש (עניין זמני, כמובן).

Life is a like spinning wheel, there are always ups and downs. When we are in a low point we need to cheer up by the knowledge that later on things would be better. And when we're on top we must appreciate it and know we can not always go up (which means there are going to be some downs somewhere in the way). Recently I get to think about it a lot, maybe because of the good period I'm going through.

Fashion is a spinning wheel as well. Sometimes something that looks outdated and ugly becomes fashionable again and suddenly seems terrific and sometimes the most trendy item becomes after a while useless and boring.

My conclusion is that stylish items, when they are in a good condition but are not fashionable at the moment, are better to keep. put them deep in the closet and wait for the right moment, than they look so great and desirable.

Such is this vest, which for a long time I considered to be very ugly and therefore stored it at the highest shelf in the closet. Same thing with the belt. I have it since I was a child and for a long time it seemed too phosphoric. Both items are doing a comeback now into my wardrobe, making some space at the upper shelves for other clothes that are out of use. (temporarily, of course).
