how did you come up with the name of your blog? It basically came from one of my favourite books: Alice in Wonderland, I've been enchanted by it ever since I was a child. when where you introduced to fashion? I think it was relatively late, as it was after finishing high school that I naturally became more fashion conscious and shown more interest in it. how do you describe your style? I think it is quite varied. One day it can be very feminine, another it's very girly and cute. I am a skirt and dress addict and I hardly wear any trousers!

Shift dresses and cute little retro dresses are definitely my staples no matter the season of the year. I love the nautical theme, which is an epitome of a summer outfit for me. Another big part of my style is rock chic, which is probably influenced my the music I listen to...it's in a way expressing my music taste and I really enjoy heavy accessories and rock girl garments. what made you start a fashion blog? I've been watching other people's style blogs for some time and I have been very inspired by them. Apart from that I really felt the urge to share my style with people, so it just came to me naturally. Last but not least I wanted to participate in the blogger world more and exchange with other bloggers culturally. what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? I guess it's a little bit of my quirky style with the hint of childhood imagery and a bit of my magical world. how is your style different than everyone else? I guess it's the case of putting clothes together in unexpected ways plus my inborn style that contributes to my style being different than others'. who is your inspiration? I love Alexa Chung, Fearne Cotton and Kate Moss' style. They're my style icons, but a lot of times I'm also inspired by the people I see on the streets and blogs. what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? I want them to feel inspired and indulge them in a little piece of childhood, that's so essential in all of us.

Mix the patterns

There is a saying that contradictions attracts each other. In the case of patterns, I believe that's true. I have a great affection toward impossible mixes of patterns. I really love it when a combination looks at first weird and sort of wrong but when you take another glance at it you start seeing the harmony.

shirt - got as a present (in fact my grandma got it as a present from her sister that lives in the US but it was too small on her, so I got it)
skirt - second hand
belt - vintage
shoes - Aldo
earrings - Accessorize

how did you come up with the name of your blog? I didn’t want to give my blog any minor name. The name should have something to do with me. “Coloured Footprints” is like a way. It accompanies me and it goes along the same lines as I do. The posts are like “Footprints”. Writing them is like leaving a trace. But the posts I write aren’t any articles which I compose but rather they are articles filled with my “coloured” thoughts, ideas and experiences.
when where you introduced to fashion? Oh, my sympathy for fashion starts when I were very young. As a child I spent most of my time making clothes for my Barbie dolls instead of playing with my friends. I wanted that my dolls have their own special clothes and not the same as all the other dolls from my friends. And now as a teenager I prefer to read fashion magazines instead of my school books. I am completely and utterly obsessed with fashion. I love to design my own clothes and to sew them, but the results are often not as I had requested. But “practice makes perfect” :D My biggest dream for the future right now is to become a fashion designer.
how do you describe your style? I describe my style as ever changing depending what’s on my frame of mind. I don’t have any “all time” favourite style wise, because my preferences are changing every 4 month, I guess. I love to mix up different styles. Sometimes I choose smart and female clothes combined with Vintage style, and on other occasions I am just wearing a baggy t-shirt, sneakers, shorts and loads of accessories. But I always have a try at getting a personal touch.

what made you start a fashion blog? I started blogging in order to show the world a little bit of my lifestyle. I really like to write about random stuff that apparently matters to me for some bizarre reasons. I love to write about fashion, art, design, poetry, music and photography. I also love drawing, sketching, composing poems and I never leave the house without taken my camera along. I think a blog is the perfect way to put all of my ideas, thoughts and pictures into one spot.
what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? I think at the moment I do not bring that much to the fashion blog world. I just decided to do something about my ideas and collections of pictures and I hope that my blog will offer people some inspiration.
how is your style different than everyone else? In my mind, fashion is a means of expression. With an unconventional outfit you are radiating self-confidence, independence, creativity and happiness to try out new things. It is a display of style and personality. My style is different in the wise how I join my clothes. I love to combine current trends with basics or vintage stuff. I am fond of going to flea markets or scouring the attic for old jewellery.
who is your inspiration? My inspiration is everywhere. I think inspiration surrounds us all the time in

countless forms. The only difficulty is to capture it and make it your own. I always have my eyes open in order to locate new things, I have always thousands of ideas and always love working with everything creative. I started blogging after being inspired by several fashion blogs, especially the Scandinavian ones. I am also inspired by fashion magazines, art, photographs, music/music videos, fashion shows and even by just watching people at the pedestrian zone. I can sit for hours on end finding inspiration on blogs and sites like lookbook, flickr or deviantart without getting bored.
what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? The impression I want to leave on the people that visits my blog is that I am a nice person with a creative vein, haha :P I hope my blog posts make up an juicy inspiration page full of conceptions, that continue to inspire other people all over the world, and they feeds the visitors with all what they want in such a way as to keep coming back for more. :)

how did you come up with the name of your blog?my blog came from eating the "juicy fruit" whilst thinking of a blog name. how do you describe your style?
My style would probably be a mix of grunge, chic, vintage. There's never really a particular style as I just dress to what I feel :)

what made you start a fashion blog? I wouldn't consider my blog a fashion blog as it's a mixture of my life, what goes on around me, my likes/dislikes, rants but occasionally I'd throw in my opinions on different fads, trends, outfits, purchases. :) what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? The fact that you don't need YSL, Balenciaga, Alexander Wang or Phi to look good. how is your style different than everyone else? I wouldn't say it's different .. lol who is your inspiration? Definitely Fashiontoast, Alexa Chung and Erin Wasson. what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? I'd like to leave the impression that I'm not the world's best dresser nor do I have the best style but I dress according to what I like. I'd also like to be a little inspirational with the photos I take :)

Spinning wheel

Old Navy
Easy Spirit

Life is a like spinning wheel, there are always ups and downs. When we are in a low point we need to cheer up by the knowledge that later on things would be better. And when we're on top we must appreciate it and know we can not always go up (which means there are going to be some downs somewhere in the way). Recently I get to think about it a lot, maybe because of the good period I'm going through.

Fashion is a spinning wheel as well. Sometimes something that looks outdated and ugly becomes fashionable again and suddenly seems terrific and sometimes the most trendy item becomes after a while useless and boring.
My conclusion is that stylish items, when they are in a good condition but are not fashionable at the moment, are better to keep. put them deep in the closet and wait for the right moment, than they look so great and desirable.

Such is this vest, which for a long time I considered to be very ugly and therefore stored it at the highest shelf in the closet. Same thing with the belt. I have it since I was a child and for a long time it seemed too phosphoric. Both items are doing a comeback now into my wardrobe, making some space at the upper shelves for other clothes that are out of use. (temporarily, of course).

Black top - Old Navy
Skirt - American Apparel
Vest - old, found at home
Belt - got as a present when I was a child
Shoes - Easy Spirit

Fashion blogger

I made this illustration for one of my favorites fashion bloggers and now it's her profile picture on Twitter. Guess who is she

This is the topping of fashion Sundae's...check out my girl Nicole of "CHERRY MAGAZINE".... how do you discribe your style? it's mixed up and it changes ALL THE TIME :) haha

align="center">what made you start a fashion blog- oh? I had a love for writing as well as fashion but I didn't have time for a full time internship at a fashion magazine so I started the blog to satisfy my intense cravings to write about fashion.

">what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? hm, the fashion blog world is so vast sometimes I wonder if I bring anything new at all. But I would like to think that it is my own view and experimentation of fashion from a slightly more budget point of view. Plus, I like to showcase the styles and fashion talents in Singapore.

how is your style different than everyone else? I won't say it's completely different, but I guess it's unique because it's me? Haha, the person wearing the outfit is more important then the outfit itself because he/she brings the outfit to life and adds personality to it. who is your inspiration? Usually strangers I meet on the street or see on street style blogs what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? I want them to feel happy!

DIY necklace

Lately I have a strong interest in everything them seems like a DIY project. Maybe it's because my fashion design studies are getting closer and maybe it's because of the need to save. Anyway the past week has been about DIY jewelerys, that necklace is the first piece. Stay tuned for more.
how did you come up with the name of your blog? My character is a collective of everything that does and has inspired me. The blog name, "The Fragrance Separate to the Flower", comes from Broadcast's song 'I Found the 'F'' (with one word changed, subtly). They have become the primary focus of my lyrical inspiration, and thus was born my blog in their name. when where you introduced to fashion? I was never introduced to it, I was born to it, I guess. My mother has always paid great notice to the way that we dress, so I suppose it was a matter of slow progression IN fashion rather than a new found interest.
how do you describe your style?A successful escape from the lion's den. what made you start a fashion blog?I never started a fashion blog. My blog is actually completely and entirely focused on my artistic progress and on the art that I produce at very specific intervals in my life. However, I started posting on Lookbook.nu about a year and a half ago, now. And I think I started posting because Yuri emailed me on Myspace offering me an in on the site when it just started and I was so interested by the pretty faces and innovative outfits worn by the original members, that I decided to get in on it myself. I'm one for creative environments. It brings out both the best and the worst in people and I love that dynamic so much. what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? A breath of fresh air.
how is your style different than everyone else? Haha, I may be completely modest, but I wouldn't go so far as saying that my style is different. It's quite similar to many others. I think the point of difference, however, is that I dress myself and I wear my clothes comfortably and proudly. I don't look inadequate or eager in my clothing nor do I try to set myself apart. It's the clothes I wear on my back and that's all it is.

who is your inspiration?
Ah, the question of all questions. I'm inspired by many people and many things. I've been inspired by the words of Renoir (but never by his art, ha!), the philosophies of Nietzsche and Foucault, the aesthetic of Goya and the humour of Wilde. I'm inspired by shapes and by colours, by people and by places. I'm all over the map, and I think that it's important to be so rather than have a concentrated source of inspiration. My prolific sources of reference and inspiration, inspire in return a diverse body of work and head of ideas.what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? That I'm dangerously modest and impossibly eager. I want people to give me constructive criticism and objective opinions. I want people to see, observe and maybe even to fall in love. That would be nice.

how did you come up with the name of your blog? I'm a little embarrassed--when I first joined Wardrobe Remix I needed to think up a Flickr name in a hurry, so I just went with my old AOL instant messenger screen name, Liebemarlene. And I came up with that when I was 18 and obsessed with Marlene Dietrich and everything German. Now I kind of wish I had a different name, though I'm so bad at coming up with titles that who knows what I'd end up with. how do you discribe your style? It's pretty vintage-based and romantic . . . I wear mostly vintage because it's easiest to come by where I live in the South, but also because I'm really inspired by old movies and fashion of the '30s and '40s. So I end up wearing mostly dresses and skirts--I don't look good in pants or anything too minimalist or modern, as much as I wish I could.

what made you start a fashion blog?I started up the blog in 2007, soon after I started my ebay store, just as a place where I could show photos of what I was selling and write about inspirations. I didn't even plan to post outfit photos or do much writing of any kind on it, but it really is easy to get hooked on blogging . . . what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? Oh, probably just a lot of old-fashioned photos and ramblings about old movies, and once in a while an outfit post. how is your style different than everyone else? I don't think it really is--there are lots of girls who wear mostly vintage and do a wonderful job of it. I guess I just try to mix up the decades a little--right now I like wearing '50s dresses with socks and platform sandals. My goal is to take inspiration from vintage looks without actually looking like I stepped out of a vintage photo.

who is your insperation? I'm inspired by a ton of fashion bloggers, street style sites, old movies. As far as one person goes, I have to admit that I follow Alexa Chung's fashion spot thread religiously. I love the way she mixes up favorite labels of mine (A.P.C., Lover . . .) with vintage and casual elements.
.what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? I really hope that I come across as my real (and nerdy) self, not as some inhabitant of fairy tale fashion blog land. I love fashion, but I like other things better (old movies, Southern history), so as much as I'd love to be a fashion inspiration, I'd be happier hearing that my blog inspired a girl to, say, go to the library to check out a book on Reconstruction or to just indulge her inner nerdiness.

Random pics from the Netherlands

Holland is amazing! Everything is so peaceful and pastoral, the view is gorgeous, the weather is perfect and the people are so nice and pretty! So far I didn't buy anything from my wishlist but I found some other cool stuff at the flea market. Among my purchases: A leather skirt and a fur scurf (my apologies to the animal lovers) besides that I bought some presents for the boyfriend and some tulip bulbs.
